エチオピアをのぞく、アフリカのすべての国々はイギリス・フランス・ポルトガルなどのヨーロッパ各国に征服されていた。

南米やアジアの植民地制度とは違い、黒人達の多くが¬国外へ奴隷として連行されて行き、更に、文化・文明のそのほとんども搾取された事により、歴史の伝承さへ困難であった。
